The Street Cricket

Street Cricket means playing Cricket on street instead of a Cricket Ground. Street Cricket is specially popular In Pakistan and India where youngsters plays Cricket on the streets near their houses. Street Cricket is popular In Subcontinent because there are less Stadiums available to play for the youngsters so they enjoy this beautiful game on the roads.

In Street Cricket many interesting rules are also kept which not exists in the real Cricket. for example if ball went to house of someone then it will be out not a six. there will be no LBW.  This type of Cricket can also prove dangerous sometimes as it is played on street so it can cause accidents. the ball which is used for Street cricket is tennis ball which is taped mostly.

For doing toss mostly coins are used or player of one team keeps something hidden in one of his hand and player of other team guesses in which hand it is.

you will be surprised to know that Umpire not even exists in this type of cricket due to which disputes also takes place often. there is also no technology to check if a player was out or not?

Even I grown up playing Cricket on the streets near my house because there was no Cricket ground. Many Famous Pakistani and Indian Cricketers also grown up playing Crickets on street like Boom Boom Shahid Afridi, Saeed Anwar, Rashid Latif, Younas Khan, Irfan Pathan, Virat Kohli and Zaheer Khan.

During his childhood Shahid Afridi broken Windows of many houses by hitting the ball hard. recently team of Aaj TV visited that area where Afridi played street cricket in childhood. Citizens told that Afridi used to play Cricket all the day here and he also broken Windows of many houses. Today same Shahid Afridi is considered one of the best hitter of Cricket bowl in the world.

The other name that is used for Street Cricket is Galli Cricket. In Urdu street is called Galli. this is why it is named as Galli Cricket.

Governments of Subcontinent countries Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka should work  to make more grounds so that Kids can play Cricket in grounds from early ages and become better Cricketers in future. It will also help greatly to prevent the accidents.

Broadcasting Giant Nimbus taking interest in PPL t20

Asian broadcast giant Nimbus has expressed willingness in organizing the Pakistan Premier League (PPL), a well-informed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) source said.
According to PTI, a representative for Nimbus sports met with the PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf and other officials and delivered a presentation in this regard.
“Basically Nimbus is interested in just organizing the PPL for a fee but has not shown interest in procuring rights for the event,” the source said.
“But the fact that an Indian company has shown interest in the PPL has come as a encouraging sign for the PCB.”
PPL has generated quite a bit of interest among st the Pakistan business community as well but to bring it on par with the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) a big Indian stake will be required, according to the source cited.
“At the presentations most of those people who gave presentations made it clear that finances needed to be generated from the Indian and other markets to sustain such a major league including the franchises,” the source added.
“The PCB at present is looking at a sale out price of around 4 to 4.5 million dollars for a franchise.”
The Pakistani board has been very keen on getting the PPL off the mark, keeping in mind that the return of cricket in the country seems unlikely anytime soon.
But after Bangladesh’s visit to Pakistan was halted by the Bangladesh High Court on security grounds, it remains to be seen how the board will rope in foreign players, if and when the financial and logistical aspects of the league are finalized.
Thanks to dawn news

New Mercedes-Benz Concept S-Class Coupé sports QNX-powered infotainment system

Did you ever lay your eyes on something and say, “Now, that is what I want for Christmas”? Well, I just said it — in response to a set of wheels. But holy turbochargers, what wheels! Not to mention everything else.

If you’re wondering what fueled this sudden rush of automotive desire, here’s a glimpse:

                                                           And here’s a bird’s-eye view:

And here’s a peak at the oh-so-gorgeous interior:

Mercedes-Benz took the wraps off this car, the new Concept S-Class Coupé, earlier this week. And just a few minutes ago, QNX and Mercedes revealed that the car’s infotainment system is based on the QNX CAR Platform.

This isn’t the first time QNX and Mercedes-Benz have worked together. Besides providing the OS for various Mercedes infotainment systems, the QNX automotive team has worked with Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America since the early 2000s, providing the group with advanced technologies for the specification and prototyping of next-generation vehicle electronics. The infotainment system in the Concept S-Class Coupé is the latest — and arguably coolest — product of this long collaboration.

The Concept S-Class Coupé also packs a serious power plant: a 449 hp Biturbo V8 with peak torque of 516 lb-ft. And it offers driver-assistance technologies that are, quite literally, forward looking. Here is a sampling of what's inside:

  • Two 12.3-inch displays
  • Touchscreen showing four world clocks
  • Stereo camera offering 3D view of the area in front of the car
  • "6DVision" to detect the position and movement of objects in front of the car
  • Variety of assistance systems to monitor surrounding traffic

I’m only touching the surface here. For more details on the car, visit the Mercedes-Benz website. And before you go, check out the press release that QNX issued this morning.
